Hey Gang!
I recently downloaded the Windows 10 ISO onto a flash drive and installed in on my hp ENVY laptop. During the installation process I was told the product key I had was invalid. I checked and double checked the key I have but it wouldn't accept it. Doing
some quick checking on these forums I found a post that said, in essence, that the code was imbedded in the bios somehow and it should sort itself out. At least that's what I understood from the post. I proceeded with the install and skipped the prompt for
the access key.
Windows 10 is up (and looks great, BTW), but it's still asking me for an access key and rejecting the valid one I'm providing. I found this post (https://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/1ea680c4-728a-4cab-bc39-b8a9ba4c25c7/problems-with-activation-error-code-0xc004f050?forum=genuinevista
)that gave some instructions on upgrading from XP with the same issue and error code (0xC004F050)
but wanted to be sure the reccommended fix is still valid when upgrading from 8.1 to 10. The fix specifically uses Internet Explorer and that's no longer an option, would Edge still do the job?
Sorry about the formatting BTW, a couple things are still not fully up to speed and I don't have a formatting bar!
