Windows Vista validation problem

Question
-
My Dell xps 630i recently got a blue screen when I was on the internet uploading something. I think it had to do with java downloading something, but anyhow the computer would longer load past the title screen and then when I would click to log in I would get a blue screen. I tried doing a system restore and that didn't work, so I just went ahead and reinstalled windows vista. Now I have a problem with installing things on my computer from the internet, most programs say that they don't have a valid digital signature and they won't install. I have UAC off and in internet explorer options I have it set to allow software to run even if a signature is invalid. Some programs do install after a couple of times redownloading them and some start to install, but come up with the program being corrupt. The only programs that will install are from my windows.old folder. Under system it says windows is activated, I don't know what could be wrong. I tried running sfc/scannow and that didn't work.Saturday, February 5, 2011 9:26 PM

Are you sure that you're downloading the correct versions? the two you quote quite possibly have different downloads for 32-bit and 64-bit systems. (Yours is 64-bit / x64)At this point, since we've cured the WGA problem, I think it would be best to hand you off to our friends in the Answers forums for advice on further repairing your system (also because I have to be offline for what I hope will be no more than a day or two). Please post a detailed description of your downloading problems in the Windows Vista Repair Answers forum - where others can better assist.Good Luck!

There doesn't appear to be any problem with Activation, but you do appear to have a minor fault with Validation. Please attempt manual validation, by going to the following pageIt should pass - and clear the residual error from the top of your reportIf it fails, go to the Diagnostics page, and follow the guidelines there , once all 'green', attempt validation again

Interesting! - is that using Firefox, or IE? (try the other) - the link works for me in both Vista, and Win 7
What security software are you running? - some can block the ActiveX controls that the site depends on.

It certainly *looks* as if it's validated OK - That link of yours won't work for anyone else, as it's only a partial one that carries data with it, but it's effectively the same as the one to which I am sent, as far as I can tell. Please describe the page. Normally, the Validation process can take up to 30 seconds or so to complete (during which time you see a green circle), and then you get offered MSE, IE9 Beta, and Windows Live as downloads. If you fail, or get a indeterminate response, it's pretty obvious. The obvious test is a couple of reboots, and some time.Good Luck!
