What ports does WHS require to login to WHS console? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I could do a sniffer trace and figure it out however it would be much easier if someone could tell me.  I am attempting to setup logins across several LAN>WAN segments.  Any help would be useful.  I know that file and print sharing is not enough.  I still had to disable my FW completely to get it through.  I would like to know the specific ports so I can route them.  Thanks,

  • Thank you,  I will open those ports on my client and see if that resolves it.  I cannot install the home connect software without disabling my ms firewall.

  • WHS is firewalled and the required ports are opened by default so 'netsh firewall show state verbose = enable' run on the server should give you a head start here. Most are the obvious fileshare, rdp, etc and/or associated with familar apps, 102xx ports are just 'open'.
