"Invalid product key" error message while activating Windows 7 Professional N RRS feed

  • We have downloaded and installed Windows 7 Professional N with Service Pack 1 64 bit English (Part Number X17-59337) from https://www.microsoft.com/msppdd/Catalog/ComponentDownload.aspx?p=/wEPBQcxMDAwMDY3BQIxNw==. On the same webpage where we downloaded the ISO from there is the Product Key to activate windows. Our problem is, when we try to activate windows with that product key, we get the following error message:

    Invalid product key
    The product key you have entered will not work with this edition of Windows 7.
    You must either run Windows 7 Setup or enter a Windows 7 Professional N product key.

    Why the key from the download page is not working to activate windows? How can we activate windows?

    We have tried to call microsoft support, spent 45 minutes on the phone, they concluded that we were using the right ISO file, the right product key, and didn't know why we get an Invalid product key error mesage during the activation. They suggested I should write into this forum.

  • I am afraid you need to contact the Partner support team.  Standard and N product keys are not interchangeable.  There is nothing anyone can do here to resolve.  The link you give above is not available to Non-Partners as it requires Partner credentials so few if any of our regulars can even view your page.
