Yeah I can see that there is a tampered file.. This all started (And maybe it caused it?) when my hard dive corrupted a load of files. Running the disk check it seemed to repair them all.. Then this started happening. I have run the suggested cmd line to try and repair with no success. The online validator claims that my windows isn't genuine.Note I can only guess what caused this. I am clueless
I sent a email to technical support and got an automated reply at the exact time that my 1 day was up (Way to go microsoft.. Perhaps you should include that "You will get an automated response in exactly 1 business day") Was asked to call Microsoft.. No thanks
This is my gamming pc. I can't put up with them crashing everytime my genuine PC tells me that it isn't. Reminds me of the new extreme forms of DRM where only the people who actually legitimately buy the games gets screwed (And you know who get the game DRM free)
Okay rant over. I would appreciate any help :)Wednesday, October 13, 2010 5:21 PM

The following files have been tampered with.
Tampered File: %systemroot%\system32\sppcext.dll|sppcext.dll.muiTry the following steps to repair the problem.
SFC/system restore
type cmd in the search box of the start menu, right click on the icon that appears and type sfc /scannow without the qoutes and press enter, allow SFC to run, reboot when directed. If you get any error messages write them down exactly as they appear. After rebooting go to www.microsoft.com/genuine and attempt to validate.
If that does not work then type system restore in the search box, click on the resulting program and follow the wizards prompts to restore to a previous point prior to the non-genuine status.
If that does not work then start a no cost wga tech support incident at the following link http://support.microsoft.com/gp/contactwga

I had run SFC before, ran it again but no luck
System restored as far back as I could. Still not genuine
Already sent an e-mail (above) and I simply refuse to call any customer support line.. "Is it switched on?" "Have you tried unplugging it / rebooting?" "Oh then I don't know, hold on while I check with technical support" (That's who I would like to talk to >.>) "Oh did I mention that this call is costing you £££?"
I'm sure there is a simple fix for this that doesn't require a telephone.. Unless they want to send me a file using one of those old telephone modems?
Thanks for trying though

So my only choices are to phone customer support or reinstall windows? *Reaches for his Windows Disk* So what would be the best way to reinstall windows while keeping all my data intact on the same partition (Or how big shall I create my windows partition? That would probably help WHEN this happens again)Saturday, October 16, 2010 9:13 AM
