Resolving: Genuine Office still not being recognised, and cannot be removed from programs RRS feed

  • Question

  • I bought and installed genuine Windows Office a few months ago,

    However, it is still popping up the non-genuine message

    I can't seem to remove Office altogether and start again. What can I do to validate my office version?

  • Hello slour,

    Here is a snippet of your mgadiag report:

    OGA Data-->
    Office Status: 103 Blocked VLK
    Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 - 103 Blocked VLK

    Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 - 101 Not Activated
    OGA Version: Registered, 2.0.48.0
    Signed By: Microsoft
    Office Diagnostics: 025D1FF3-230-1

    The mgadiag report is telling us that your IBM/Lenovo computer has two installations of Office Enterprise 2007.

    One installation is a nongenuine Volume Licensing edition of Office Enterprise 2007.

    The other installation is a not-yet-activated retail licensed edition of Office Enterprise 2007.  Typically a retail license PID for Office Enterprise 2007 is indicative of the installation being from the Office Home Use Program thru an employer.

    I think the best course of action would be to uninstall both copies of Office, restart twice, then do a clean installation of the retail (possibly HUP) license of Office Enterprise 2007.  If you happen to have two sets of Office Enterprise 2007 installation discs and product keys, make sure you cleanly install using the discs and key from the set that does NOT have any wording regarding Volume Licensing on the label.

    The easiest way to uninstall both copies at once is to run the MS FixIt in this KS KB article:  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971179/  The advantage to using the FixIt is that it will uninstall the Office license file from the nongenuine installation, which will facilitate the subsequent smooth Validation of your retail license for Office Enterprise 2007.

  • Unfortunately, your installed copy of Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 is counterfeit - Blocked VLK (Volume License Key).  You need to uninstall it completely, then purchase a genuine edition of Microsoft Office from a reliable, proven, trustworthy source, such as the Microsoft Store.
