Windows 7 Intermittently displaying "Windows Not Genuine" RRS feed

  • Question

  • It popped up the other day, then disappeared, then came back.  If I right click on Computer > Properties, it says "24 days to activate. Activate Windows Now" - but Windows was installed on this Acer PC when we purchased it from ... Newegg.com?  TigerDirect?

    Here's the report:

  • Your install appears not to be activated.

The machine was apparently built in 2013 - which means that it was shipped with Windows 8 as primary OS - but may also have had Windows 7 PRo installed.

If you have reinstalled Windows since purchase, you MUST use the proper Recovery media - it looks to me as if you have reinstalled with retail media, which cannot support the OEM_SLP Key used here.
