Windows Update will not find any Updates RRS feed

  • Question

  • I recently fixed my problem with Windows not being seen as genuine. Now it does. Here is the thread that discusses it: https://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/eb9cb894-a961-40c9-8d98-8c6ab0d908d6/yearold-activated-laptop-says-it-doesnt-know-if-windows-7-is-genuine-updates-stopped?forum=genuinewindows7

I thought that was the cause of why Windows Update would not find any updates nor would it update automatically.

In the Change Settings for Windows Update, the first choice for Important Updates is greyed out so I cannot change it.

It is set to "Check for updates but let me choose whether ot download and install them" for Every day at 3am, but I cannot change them.

All the rest of the options I can change, like Recommended updates and Who can install updates.

I started Windows Update by running it as Administrator.

I ran the online Windows Update troubleshooter and it said it fixed the Service registration is missing or corrupt. It also said it did not fix "Problems installing recent updates".

I have rebooted since I fixed the Windows genuine problem. What can I do now?
