HPC 2016 Service Pack 3 with High Avaliability RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi ,

We have HPC 2016 setup for High Availability ( 3 headnode setup)  .  2 headnodes in the primary datacenter and 1 in the DR site .

It works fine when 3 headnodes are up . If we shutdown one or 2 headnodes we are not able to connect to  remaining headnode

Please let me know if we should be able to shutdown 2 headnodes in the primary datacenter  ( in case of  disaster recovery case) and continue working by connecting to DR site only

    appreciate your help

  • Hi Julia,

No, the cluster can work only when at least 2 head nodes are up.

  • Hi Sunbin,

How do we set it up across Data Centers ? Do we need 3 headnodes in each datacenter and do we connect 6 of them to the same remote SQL Server DB as 6 nodes cluster ?

    Appreciate your reply
