Why synctoy at all when windows XP had all this? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Under Windows XP there was a way to synchronize e.g. a network drive such that the tree was available off line (right click on the drive and tick the menut item "always available offline - in german that is "immer offline verfügbar").

Under Windows 7 this feature still seems to be there but it doesn't seem to be possible
"untick" the mirroring on subdirectories. This feature, though being visible in the right click
    is always greyed out.

Is synctoy then the only available alternative or is there a way to enable this "exclude" feature nonetheless under Windows 7?
