Hawkins HNAS1 NAs device stops remote access to shared folders. RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Just to let other people know, I have a Hnas1 on my network. It is a off the wall Linux OS. In order to map a share on it, in XP, you have to map the share, but use the Logon as different user option. This puts you Username in the top box of the log on Window, instead of guest. After a reboot, you have to re-enter the password to access the drive.

If you reboot, and do not re-logon to that share, you can not remote into the WHS, and access the shared folder. It just times out.

I am not sure this occurs when connecting to a Windows based share, but will test it when I have time. You may also be able to use the same username and password on the Hnas1 to logon automatically.

Just though this might save someone a little stress.
