Product Key now comes back as not valid.

Question

When I orginally installed Office 2007, not from a trial, but downloaded and installed from Microsoft site, and put in the Key, there was no problem. Every time I used the Office site and it checked to see if I had a valid copy, no problem. Then somehow I ended up with a virus, that locked up my computer, and the only way I could get it fixed was wipe and start all over (deleted partition, reinstalled partition, and formatted through the Vista Disc.) When I reinstalled Office 2007 the key worked, but to activate it, it says it is not valid, I followed the instructions that the validation person gave me for going through the registry. I have unistalled and reinstalled, and still the same thing. Also every time Office closes I get

Hello DLyn,
Unless there has been a change since the report you posted, nothing is fixed because Office is showing as not activated.
Did you try doing a telephonic activation? (I'm not sure if "I followed the instructions that the validation person gave me for going through the registry." means you did so.)
If so, and the telephonic activation did not work and the activation representative was not able to assist, under the circumstances I think your best course of action is to follow the instuctions in this MS KB article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/823570

Hello DLyn,
You told us where you downloaded the installation files for Office Professional 2007, "When I orginally installed Office 2007, not from a trial, but downloaded and installed from Microsoft site"
Can you tell us where you got the Product Key?

I really don't remember. I think Microsoft. It has been several years ago. When My computer got the virus, my backup was also corrupted. All I had was the copy of codes left on my pda. Microsoft says the code was valid. They had to change the code.
I guess it is fixed, but I sure would like to know what happened.

I went through Tech support, because the phone activation people could not help, I had to contact Microsoft.

Hello DLyn,
So you're OK now?
If you don't mind, post a fresh mgadiag report so we can verify for you that all is well :-)
