Limit the set of records in a queryset of a bulkdelete process

All replies

  • Well... you could use one QueryExpression to implement paging and feed the returned GUIDs for the records from a target page into a secondary QueryExpression (or QueryByAttribute, which may be more appropriate) that filters for exactly those records returned by the first QueryExpression based on their "key" attribute.  Sending the second query to your BulkDelete operation should successfully limit the operation's scope.

  • I've posted a more thorough description to my blog:  http://crmentropy.blogspot.com/2010/08/limiting-records-in-bulkdeleterequest.html

[UPDATE:  the blog posting now contains example code for this process, which I have verified to work.]
