OOBE Fails

Question
-
I saw a thread where OOBE failed when attempting to activate. I upgraded from Home to Pro about a month ago and am struggling through a number of issues, the OOBE failure being one of them.
As mentioned in the other thread here is the result of the scan:

Looks like it's a legit copy.
I've been plagued with problems every since the upgrade. My sense is that whatever is causing the problem in OOBE may be at the heart of the other problems.
A log of the problems and attempts to resolve are here:

Hi Tom,
These forums are for support of Windows Genuine Advantage, but your issue is related to Product Activation. We ask you to run the diagnostic tool just to confirm that there are no WGA issue. And, by the way, you are correct, your software (Windows and Office) is Genuine.
Some of the other Forum users may be able to provide assistance, but at this point, your question is outside my area of knowledge and I suggest going to http://support.microsoft.com/ph/1173 for additional support options. (I do not believe there is a charge for Product Activation phone support)Sorry I couldn't help more,

19Tom47,
Do you have IE7 installed? Probably not, but the symptoms you are describing have been reported as the result of a bad IE7 installation.
