  • Thanks for sending across the link. Using the approach described in the article you can accomplish what you want i.e. delete old workflow from the managed solution.

Below is what we did that confirms this approach can be use in your case,

    ·         Created a solution named as “Base Solution 2” (version 1.0.0.0) in original organization which contains below three components,
    -          Contact (entity)
    -          Update Contact (workflow)

    -          Send Email (workflow)

    ·         Imported the managed version of this solution into target organization.

    ·         Remove unwanted workflow from “Base Solution 2” unmanaged solution. We removed “Update Contact” workflow.

    ·         Clone “Base Solution 2”, changed version to 1.1.0.0

    ·         We exported this cloned solution as managed solution and imported it on target organization where Base Solution 2 of version 1.0.0.0 already installed with three components

    ·         While importing this solution, we checked “Stage for Upgrade”

    ·         When solution import completes we see “Apply Solution Upgrade” option.

    ·         After applying solution upgrade we see two differences in already installed managed solution. Version got changed to 1.1.0.0 and the workflow component got removed. From below screen shot “Update Contact’ workflow not exist in managed solution.
