Moving Microsoft Office Small Business from one laptop to another RRS feed

  • I have recently bought a new laptop and want to transfer the office small business 2007 software from my old laptop to the new one.  The old laptop is vista operating system and has OEM software and I have the product key so I went to the microsoft.com/office/backup site however when trying to download the software it says that the product does not exist.  I am now stuck?  I do not need the software on my old laptop so do not want to buy a new licence.  I have checked that it is a genuine licence and it appears to be. 

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Hello suelewy,

    If the installation of Office on the old computer is OEM software as you wrote, it is licensed to run only on the computer onto which it was first installed and is not permitted by the Software Licensing Terms to be moved to any oher computer.
