SQL Server 2005 or 2008 (70-431 or 70-432) RRS feed

  • Question

  • I would like to pursue the MCITP Database Admin certification.  My employer has agreed to pay for some training.  I have been reading on this site and it looks like I should start with a MCTS for SQL Server Implementation and Maintenance (70-431 or 70-432).

My company uses SQL Server 2005 currently with no immediate plans to upgrade to 2008.  The servers that I can work with every day will all be 2005 and that will help a great deal with preparing for the exam.   But I know Microsoft is moving more towards 2008.

That being said is it better for me to take 70-431 Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - Implementation and Maintenance or 70-432 SQL Server 2008, Implementation and Maintenance?

    Thanks!
