Enhanced Top Answerers List Suggestion? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Lots of people say the Top Answerers list is inaccurate (which is probably true), but what I find most irritating is that it cycles through several lists. One minute it's Top Answerers, the next Top MVP answerers, the next Moderators and the next top Microsoft Answerers. Although MVPs and Moderators are still in the Top Answerers list? LOL.

This is illogical for this part of the page.

You should include a complete list somewhere in the forum, but I think you should go back to it being just Top Answerers, or something else I suggest:

How about making lists that apply to all of the forums (Media, Encoder, Web, Studio etc.) and cycle through them?

It would be something like this:

    Top Answerers - Web

    Top Answerers - Design

    Top Answerers - Studio

    etc., etc., etc.

Or even consolidating them down to one general, cross-forum list would be better.

    What do you guys think?

Take a chance. Prepare to be surprised.

What do I think? Get the thing off the main forum view and replace it with something useful like a set of simple guidelines for using the forums.

Top Answerer information could be available on an enhanced Browse Users page, which would present top answerers by forum, category of responder, or date.

    That's what I think...

  • But if you did that, then the "community recognition" as it's called, would be minimized (after all, who would want to check a long list)?

Although that enhanced browse users page, I think, would coincide nicely under the "More" link for my above suggestion.

As I've said before, simple guidelines might work when someone signs up, they can't confirm until after they are presented with a short, written FAQ.

And as an afterthought, how about send that as an e-mail reminder (the FAQ thing, I mean)?

Take a chance. Prepare to be surprised.
