Windows 7 is not genuine after trying to updates

Question
-
Hello,
I have this old HP laptop with windows 7 ultimate on it. I tried to update it, which was also failed and along with that after restarting it is saying windows is not active and its product key is blocked or currupt.
However before shutting down it when i was downloading softwares from MS website it had asked a few times for software validation and worked just fine.
Can any one help me resolving this?

you are using the blacklisted Lenovo key. this key was blacklisted before win 7 was released and has never been sold.
you will have to purchase a genuine ultimate or revert to the windows your computer came with.
your Office is also not genuine.

Its an HP laptop and yesterday before shutting down the key was working just fine with windows, it was showing its genuine windows and I had checked the same on microsoft website.
This all happened after trying to install update yesterday, and I am unable to figure out why is the key changed/blocked all of a sudden.

That makes no difference whatever - the install is counterfeit.
For what version and edition of Windows is the machine licensed according to the COA sticker on the case?
According to HP's website, Ultimate edition is not even an option.Noel Paton | Nil Carborundum Illegitemi | CrashFixPC | The Three-toed Sloth
