Vista activated but not genuine RRS feed

    Can anyone help me? i brought a laptop yesterday with Vista Home basic pre installed.  This afternoon the message that vista isnt genuine is popping up on my desk top.  I have checked and double checked and it is showing as activated (i also reactivated by telephone to double check) but to no joy - i am stil getting the message not a genuine product.

  • Hi sar2them,


      Your Vista is Genuine, but when Vista goes into a Non-Genuine state (even momentarily) and is then returned to a Genuine state, it can take 2 reboots for the White "Non-Genuine" text to disapear.


      Would you reboot twice and tell me if the white text remains?
