Windows 8 Reinstall fails - Pc needs to be repaired RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a Samsung NP350V4C which has Windows 8 Single Language. I tried to use the Option in Settings\ General\ Remove Everything and Reinstall Windows. It asked me if I would like to remove files only or do a clean reinstall. I selected to do a clean install. The Pc then restarted and an error message appeared on a blue screen:

    RECOVERY

    Your PC needs to be repaired

    The application or operating system couldn't be loaded because a required file is missing or contains errors.

    File: \windows\system32\winload.efi

    Error code:0xc0000001

    You'll need to use the recovery tools on your installation media. if you don't have any installation media (like a disc or USB device), contact your system administrator or PC manufacturer.

    I do not have any media discs etc. I have tried to download Windows 8, but failed to have any success.

    what is my next step?

  • Try to restore OS with below solution.

    1) Restart laptop and press f8

    2) Go to safe mode

    3) Start --> All programs --> Accessories --> System tools -->System restore

    If above not works then see below..

    Please buy Windows 8 Genuine media discs then format primary partition and try to install fresh OS.

    This method may have worked with previous versions of windows but He said he has "Windows 8". You need to boot from Windows 8 setup disc, usb, or installation partition then choose repair (not install). If repair works why would you "format primary partition" or "reinstall" your whole OS? just reboot & feel safe knowing that given the chance, the internet will always lie to you...
