First of – do NOT use the RemoveWAT tool. There is no way to tell for sure
whether it may or may not contain malware, but it WILL break the Software
    Protection system in Windows.

The 80070005 error is referred to here- see if the advice helps....

  • HI,

No the issue is not resolved.

Mine is  Windows 7 Home Premium which shows error

    windows 7 home premium

    Code: OX80070005

    Access is denied.

I have tried to solve the issue via this link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2008385 But the issue is that i don't have  Local Policies with Home premium. No commands work like secpol.msc  nor the  rsop.msc

You will not have Local Security Policy available in the Windows 7 StarterHome Basic, and Home Premium editions.

So how can we edit the Local policies ?

Can we do anything with Component Services ?  Anything that can make me access local policies to  Disable the Plug and Play Policy?

An interesting result has just cropped up elsewhere – please try the following
Open Windows Explorer (Computer) and navigate to the C: drive so that the files and folders present in the C: drive show in the pane
right-click on the Windows folder, and select Properties.
In the General tab, at the bottom you should see a ‘blob’ in the selection box for ‘Read-only....’
The ‘Hidden’ selection box should be empty.
Put a tick in the ‘Hidden’ box and click Apply, then accept the offer to Apply changes to the folder, subfolders and files by clicking OK – Accept the next prompt, and then click on the ‘ignore all’ option when Windows brings up the first error message. Wait until the process completes – it could take a while
Once complete, UNcheck the ‘Hidden’ selection box, and repeat the process.
The reboot, and run another MGADiag report.

    Post your results.

    HI,

I have done as per u said.

First the hidden box was empty, then i put a tick and applied it to all folders and subfolders and click ok.

    Then ignored all.

Then i again Unchecked the hidden and when i rebooted i saw that the Hidden box is actually checked.

Then i ran a MGADIAG tool which i had already downloaded and run and i have now listed as under

    HI,

I have done as per u said.

First the hidden box was empty, then i put a tick and applied it to all folders and subfolders and click ok.

    Then ignored all.

Then i again Unchecked the hidden and when i rebooted i saw that the Hidden box is actually checked.

You need to go back and UNcheck the Hidden box, and click Apply – and wait for it to complete, then reboot again
