CRM 2011 - How to Hide base reports on Contact Homepage RRS feed

  • Question

  • Experts,

How shall i hide base reports (i.e. Products by Category, Sales History) on Contact homepage? (Screen shot below)
I can see the FlyoutAnchor in customizations.xml for contact entity and have also seen contactRibbon.xml.

Also, i have used tools Ribbon WorkBench and CRM 2011 Visual Ribbon Editor but i can't find anything specific.

Would really appreciate your help on this?

    Thanks

    Sam

  • Try this: Goto the Reports View, select the desire Report and click edit, On the dialog box, removed the Entity in the Related Record Types, then Save and Close.

  • I think it is safe to change the setting for those OOB reports, even though they are Managed. On the other hand, MS have also set those reports customizable to TRUE which I assume they allow end user modifications.

Generally, once those OOB reports are deployed during installation, they don't normally get redeployed.

  • Thanks Eric.

    Both reports are managed.
Do you think it is safe to do it the way you suggested?  (like no long term conflicts with base report?)

Also for those report changes to be shipped out i have to include those reports in our solution.
I think last i tried importing a managed solution with those two reports and got error during import.

Will look forward to hear from you.

    Thanks again,
    Sam

  • Excellent, Thank you so much Eric for the solution.
Applied your fix and had no issues with the managed solution import.
