MS CRM 2011: Offline Client could not open records

    Question

  • Hello,

We have a MS CRM 2011 organization with an unmanaged solution which contains several customizations. Furthermore we have installed the Outlook client with offline functionality. The Outlook client works fine with the organization.

If we push the button go offline, the client takes the data from the CRM server. The process doesn’t return any errors. We see the records in the list views. But if we try to open a record (for example account, contact or opportunity) a new window was opened and an error message was shown (unexpected error). We see only the error message without any detail information for the error.

We have exported the solution as managed and imported it in a new organization. Then we have connected the Outlook client to the new organization. The offline functionality works then without any issues. With default organizations without any customizations the offline functionality works without any issues, too.

Is that the correct behavior of MS CRM? Or have we made some mistakes in our solotuion?

    Kind regards,

    Waldemar

  • Synchronization filters define which records are synchronized to your Outlook file. In offline mode, you can configure any record type that you want to access while offline. Please ensure that you have configure Synchronization filters.

  • We use the default offline filter from MS CRM. With the managed solution in a new organization we don't have any issues. This organization use the same offline filter.

  • I have the same problem.

I turned on 'tracing' and in client trace file only 'exeptions' I've got are something like:

    >ExecuteScriptFunction 'isFormReadyToClose' args '' failed to execute the function because it does not exist in the page at location http://localhost:2525/.......

    >ExecuteScriptFunction 'isCloseAlertAttached' args '' failed to execute the function because it does not exist in the page at location http://localhost:2525/.....

    Any ideas?
