CRM 4.0 via Intranet or Outlook RRS feed

  • Question

  •

Have you guys noticed much of a performance decrease using CRM 4.0 via Outlook or the Intranet.

I find that using CRM via Outlook 2007 is quite a bit slower that using CRM via the intranet.

  • I agree. A lot of people report performance difference between the Outlook Client and the browser client.

Before I install the Outlook client I always let the customer know that they shouldn't expect the MS CRM client to run any faster than outlook as its not in the browser anymore.

  • Have you installed Rollup Update 1 for the Outlook client?  If you haven't, I highly recommend it.  It will resolve a lot of the performance issues and is a lot more stable.  You can get details about the rollup including where to download it here

  • Thanks for the feedback!

BTW I got my CRM remote connection working thru IFD and am surprised that if i connect to CRM 4.0 at my office location via the internet it is even quicker than my intranet.

    Why is that ?

It shouldn't be slower using 'intranet', please install update rollup 1 for client (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=57c6267b-3b13-49dd-bfed-3cc83633aea7&displaylang=en&tm)
