CRM 4.0 via Intranet or Outlook

Have you guys noticed much of a performance decrease using CRM 4.0 via Outlook or the Intranet.
I find that using CRM via Outlook 2007 is quite a bit slower that using CRM via the intranet.

I agree. A lot of people report performance difference between the Outlook Client and the browser client. Before I install the Outlook client I always let the customer know that they shouldn't expect the MS CRM client to run any faster than outlook as its not in the browser anymore.

Have you installed Rollup Update 1 for the Outlook client? If you haven't, I highly recommend it. It will resolve a lot of the performance issues and is a lot more stable. You can get details about the rollup including where to download it hereWednesday, December 17, 2008 10:28 PMModerator

Thanks for the feedback!
BTW I got my CRM remote connection working thru IFD and am surprised that if i connect to CRM 4.0 at my office location via the internet it is even quicker than my intranet.
Why is that ?

It shouldn't be slower using 'intranet', please install update rollup 1 for client (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=57c6267b-3b13-49dd-bfed-3cc83633aea7&displaylang=en&tm)
