Improve Video Playback Performance

Question
-
I like to download videos (WMV, AVI, etc.) to my device and watch during the day as I have time. Several issues:
1) Windows Media Player doesn't play some formats (like some AVI files)
2) Windows Media Player sometimes just stops part way through a large video - must kill it and restart video and jump ahead
3) Windows Media Player can't play files that are designed for desktop (higher resolution and frame rates) - could it downsize automatically and still play so we don't have to convert?
4) In Full Screen mode (on my VGA device), video and audio are not synced up - I have fastest processor at 624 MHz but it can't play the video properly!!! *** MOST IMPORTANT REQUEST
Thanks for your consideration,
Krip

Try TCPMP. It'll play most of your formats you require and will solve all of the aforementioned problems. Its a freeware. Just google for it

Thanks for tip. I'm well aware of TCPMP. I've used it in the past. In fact, just bought the commercial version, CorePlayer, but it is unable to play WMV files. Any idea how/where to get the codec?
Of course, my purpose of logging the suggestion here is to see if we can work towards future versions of Windows Mobile playing VGA videos full-screen on Pocket PCs using out-of-the-box software.

Re1: There is a freeware application that can analyze video files and find out what codecs are needed to play them back: http://www.headbands.com/gspot/. Some codecs are unfortunately unsupported by WMP - it focuses mainly on Windows Media formats.
Re3: Syncing media files from a desktop Windows Media Player to a Windows Mobile device connected via ActiveSync should automatically convert high-resolution/bitrate wmv files to a lower-resolution/bitrate format. Are you saying this is not happening?
I hope this helps,
Lukasz

I think the CorePlayer is an incredible program and well worth using.
I suppose you could convert WMV files to a format you want that can be used with the CorePlayer ... especially if it is a video you desperately want to be able to watch using the CorePlayer.
