[CRM 4.0] Problems With the Outlook Client RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi there folks, we've recently upgraded our CRM 3.0 to CRM 4.0, however I'm running into some problems with the Outlook Client Setup.

When the install/upgrade was done on the server we set everything up to run on http://crm and if I start IE and go to http://crm then everything loads just fine showing http://crm/[company].  Then I installed the Outlook client on my PC (Windows Vista Business & Office 2007) and ran the configuration, giving the same http://crm address, it all seems to have worked fine.

However when I start Outlook and open a CRM record the URL I see it loading from is http://[server name]/[company] not http://crm/[company].  So I had a look in the registry and although the IntranetDiscoveryURL key is set to CRM all the other keys (IntranetServerURL, IntranetWebAppURL, ServerURL & WebAppURL) show as http://[server name] not http://crm.

Any ideas why this is happening and how it can be resolved?

  • Does anyone have anything they can suggest here?  This is potentially a quite large problem for us.
