SQL 2008 on Windows 2008 R2 for OCS R2 EE Failed RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,
I recently receive the last version of Windows 2008 R2. I install it on two servers,
1 = Roles deployed (AD, IIS etc ...)
2 = Sql server 2008 deployed with the sp1 effectively when I installed the sql server 2008 a message appears which tell me "apply the sp1 with this vesion of windows (2008 R2)
The ocs wizard works perfectly until the creating pool step (step 1 part 2 :-))
In fact during the creating pool an error appears such as
"An error occurered during the pool back end detection"
    "Pool backend discovery failed"
"Failed to start sql service or invalid instance"

Here is  the parameter of pool
    pool name = pool
    domain = domain.com
    pool fqdn = pool.domain.com
    sql instance = srvsql\mssqlserver

During the installation of sql 2008 all the config is by default

I follow this solution but anything done !

Someone have encoured the same error then fixed it ?

    Regards !

  • OCS R2 is not yet supported on Server 2008 R2 so the same may hold true for using Server 2008 R2 as the host of the back-end database server.
