Office 2003 genuine adavantage issue RRS feed

  • I am a highschool teacher working in a computer lab that up unitl now had now problems.  After the last update I get a message that my office does not pass the genuine advantage even though we have 12 liscences. Thank you in advance for any help.

    The data above shows that the installation of Office is a Volume Licensing edition, and that it was installed with a widely pirated and now blocked Volume Licensing Key.  The status of 114 Blocked VLK 2 is special status assigned to installations of Office done with one of two particular VLKs.  These keys are the keys that Microsoft issed to itself for the internal use of its own staff and employees--the keys were stolen and widely posted on the internet, so they have been subsequently Blocked from further use.  The 114 Blocked VLK 2 key for Office Professional 2003 ends in 3HFDY.  You can use a keyfinder utility (such as the Magical Jellybean Keyfinder, Belarc Advisor, etc) to extract the key and that is the one you will find on this computer.

    Thank you for the additional information.

    All of the computers have the same installation of your software package, which is Office Professional 2003 Greek.  The reason they are coming up as nongenuine is because the installations were done with a widely pirated and now blocked Volume Licensing Key (VLK).  This VLK (which ends in the characters 3HFDY, which you can check agaist your Magical Jellybean results) was originally issued by Microsoft to itself for the internal use of its employees and staff.  This key is one of the two most widely pirated Microsoft product keys, and it has been blocked from further use by Microsoft.

    Your next step is to contact Microsoft's Volume Licensing Department to check to see if your Volume License Agreement (VLA), which you have the documentation for, is still a current and valid agreement, and if so, is the Volume Licensing Key that should be included in the documentation still a good VLK.  Note that the VLK in your documentation should NOT be the same key as was revealed by the Magical Jellybean Keyfinder---your Volume Licensing Agreement should have a different key, one that is exclusive to your school's VLA.

  • Thank you for your insight but I haven't been able to solve this problem yet.

    I did run Magical Jellybean Keyfinder but when I click on the Validate Office button at www.microsoft.com/genuine  it does not display a number but information on buying Genuine Office and how I might have come into the possesion of non-genuine Office.  As for the "check with the school administration to see if there has been some sort of mix-up with product keys" that I assume would be me and I haven't  got a clue.

    We have Office Pro 2003 Win32 Greek with  Microsoft Open License aggreement for 12 licensed copies.  The lab consists of 11 terminals and one server.  Only the server is not displaying the message.

    Any other suggestions??

    It might help if you could post an mgadiag report from one of the computers where the Office installation is not showing that it is nongenuine.

    The purpose of going to www.microsoft.com/genuine and Validating Office on each computer is to screen each Office installation checking to see if each installation is reporting as Genuine or not.

    If all Office installations are using the same Volume License, then running the keyfinder on each Office installation should reveal that all Office installations have the same product key.

    If all installations report as Genuine except for the installation on the server, and all have the same product key except for the installation on the server, then the only installation that needs attention is the one on the server.

    The simplest way to address the problem would be to uninstall the nongenuine Office, restart, then using your Volume License installation discs, install a fresh installation of your Office Pro 2003 Win32 Greek.

    Have all of the Office installations been done with Greek language installation discs or English language installation discs?

    I work in a school lab in Greece.  The lab consists of 1 server and 11 clients.  The lab was set up in May 2004.

    We have Office Pro 2003 Win32 Greek with Microsoft Open License agreement for 12 licensed copies.  I have the documents and two cd’s

    1.      Greek Microsoft Office Professional Enterprise Edition 2003 (Volume License Product Key Required) December 2003 Applications Microsoft Office FAMILY.

    2.      Greek Microsoft Office Professional Enterprise Edition 2003 (Volume License Product Key Required) April 2004 Applications Microsoft Office FAMILY

     I ran Magical Jellybean Key finder and all computers have the same key.  The documents I posses have a Licensee Authorization Number and a License Number which are different from the product key number.

    The office package we have is legal so I don’t understand why it is coming up non-genuine and why the vlk has been blocked.

    I am apprehensive to attempt your suggestion:

    ·                         The simplest way to address the problem would be to uninstall the nongenuine Office, restart, then using your Volume License installation discs, install a fresh installation of your Office Pro 2003 Win32 Greek.

    I don’t want to open another kettle of worms!!!!

    Thank you for the additional information.

    All of the computers have the same installation of your software package, which is Office Professional 2003 Greek.  The reason they are coming up as nongenuine is because the installations were done with a widely pirated and now blocked Volume Licensing Key (VLK).  This VLK (which ends in the characters 3HFDY, which you can check agaist your Magical Jellybean results) was originally issued by Microsoft to itself for the internal use of its employees and staff.  This key is one of the two most widely pirated Microsoft product keys, and it has been blocked from further use by Microsoft.

    Your next step is to contact Microsoft's Volume Licensing Department to check to see if your Volume License Agreement (VLA), which you have the documentation for, is still a current and valid agreement, and if so, is the Volume Licensing Key that should be included in the documentation still a good VLK.  Note that the VLK in your documentation should NOT be the same key as was revealed by the Magical Jellybean Keyfinder---your Volume Licensing Agreement should have a different key, one that is exclusive to your school's VLA.
