New MCSA SQL Server 2016

Question

Hi all, I would like to book for the MCSA SQL Server 2016 certification. Lately, I read many news online that this certification will change from technology-based to role-based. Does anybody know for how long the actual MCSA SQL Server 2016 will be valid and when the new role-based certification will be put in place, please?
Thank you in advanceWednesday, September 25, 2019 10:22 AM

There are 2 different role based certifications i.e developer and admin. I don't think they will get retired any soon. Retire date is not mentioned and also the certifications are based on latest versions - SQL v2016,2017,2019 etc..

Hi, thank you for answering. But the certifications I was referring (sorry if I didn't mention in my previous post) are the 70-740, 70-741 and the 70-742. How long these will still be valid? Are the certifications in your post, the ones that will replace them?
OK. Above exams are related to Windows server 2016. So no, these will not be replaced by certifications provided by me which are related to SQL server. They are different.
All 3 certifications seem to be the latest ones and they won't get retired soon. In fact, don't worry about the validity of it for now.
Go through entire list of certification and choose the one which interest you more, relevant to you work. :)
