Install OCS 2007 Enterprise in an Expanded configuration to remote sites RRS feed

    To all

Is it possible to install OCS 2007 Enterprise components in an Expanded configuration so that remote sites can have Web Servers or A/V servers remotly installed while a central location has the OCS pool installed. i.e. one pool for the whole AD domain. This is because the client only wants to install one pool at the centrall office location and want to limit the number of servers installed in remote locations. Remote locations have a large number of users, 1000-2000 and there are 3 remote locations.

Or would be benefical to have one expanded/consolided pool per site? Only traffic going across the WAN will be SIP but internal traffic to the site will be mostly SIP, A/V and Voice.

    Cheers

  • To meet Microsoft support guidelines, all pool members (consolidated or expanded) need to reside on the same subnet and have fast connectivity between themselves.  The intent of an expanded topology is to provide appropriate capacity for each service based on the usage requirements of the organization, not to distribute them geographically.
