home link on forms in Dynamics crm 2011 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have a client requirement where they want to navigate to the home page from the forms. I know one of the option might be creating a customised button which would take you to the home page but is there anything else that can be done without having to create the button on each form.

    Thank you for your help.

  • Hello,

Not sure what do you mean with "Home Link" but you can create a button that would be shown for all forms. Check following url - http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg309386.aspx

  • Hi,

I saw a blog post on this ages ago, but can't seem to find it now.

It was along the lines of adding a ribbon button to the application form ribbon that opened a named window that contained the home page, then each other form would show the same form even if it was behind. The first home page would still be open however.

Of course this wouldn't work in the outlook client. I'm tempted to say however that you should solve the problem with user training rather than adding a button.

Incidentally, if you are doing Ribbon Customisations, check out the Ribbon Workbench for Dynamics Crm

Have you checked article? As for me that subject of article is self-descriptive. Answer - you will add a template of button and it would be shown at every entity form.
