  • Even though you do not use IE, make those changes in IE. When you create a new subscription, OneCare checks these settings in IE to verify that you are located in a country where OneCare is available.

You are getting the US form for one of 3 reasons:

    1. You are physically connected to the Internet from a US based ISP

    2. Your Billing account for your LiveID does not correctly identify your location. (sign into http://billing.microsoft.com to change this. Also, verify your LiveID information at http://account.live.com)

    3. Your IE language is set to use US English.

Honestly, I believe it is number 2, because number 3 should redirect you to http://get.live.com instead of present you with the wrong form.

In any event, if none of the above applies, please contact support to have this investigated and get help. Note that buying a retail copy will probably be cheaper and you can activate/subscribe using the retail key. Your IE language will still need to reflect your physical location, though.

  • You could try these possible solutions:

    1. Go into Internet Explorer and click Tools / Internet Options and click the Languages button.  Change the language to reflect your current geographic location and click OK.

    2. Go to http://billing.microsoft.com/ and click "Go to personal information", then "edit personal information" and make sure the country shown there is correct. if not, go to http://account.live.com/ and sign in with your LiveID, choose "Edit account information" and correct your country setting.
