Excel keeps crashing!! RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm using Excel 2002, and it's been working fine until about a few weeks ago. I can open spreadsheets but whenever I try to do any activity, like clicking on a line or entering data, it suddenly freezes and I get a message saying that Excel has encountered a problem and needs to close! It keeps happening over and over again, and it's really frustrating. I can't find anything that will help online and the error reports it prepares everytime don't offer any help either. Can anybody please help me??? I also have no idea what forum I'm supposed to put this in, so sorry if I put it in the wrong one!

  • Okay, I tried that, but I got the message "msiexec.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close." I don't have the CD since this is my dad's old work computer. And I keep getting a message telling me that my copy of Office isn't "genuine." All this just started happening in December though, I've been using it fine since August!

  • I am sorry Spedfish, but if you want a quick answer dig seep and pay a GEEK to solve your problem with excel, rather than expect someone to help out of the goodness of their heart, especially over the Christmas period. Have some manners and at least say Thank You to people who do help!  It is not our fault you cannot use your own software, save your own disks or jump when you demand help.

  • do you know why the arrow or tab buttons won't work while I'm on excel? They work on all other applications.
