MCSA 70-410 training with older book

    Question

  • Hi,

I have a training guide "Installing and Configuring Windows Server 2012" written by Mitch Tulloch.

My question is it this book valid for MCSA Server 2012 R2 training because the book is for non-R2?
And are there many R2-specific questions in the test?

    Thank you!

  • I know many things have changed between 2012 and 2012 R2 and you will need a course or book with the updated information.

I believe they have a free Server 2012 R2 course on Microsoft Virtual Academy. It is the MCSA 2012 R2 domain review course. I am not sure if it has all of the material needed to pass the exam, but it can't hurt. It is FREE! It also has practice tests at the end of each chapter. http://mva.microsoft.com

  • No. I can assure you that the content in the book you have will be out of date and in some cases will be considered incorrect on the current exam.

Typically the exams test the latest versions of the product more heavily than previous versions (if at all).
