Problems with Internet Redial - External modem SBS 2003 Premium R2 RRS feed

  • Question

I have a newly installed SBS 2K3 Premium R2 server system.  The modem is an external DB9 Serial modem.

Using a "Cables-to-Go" USB to Serial adapter (with software driver installed) - COM4 and a TrendWare modem.

The system was configured using the Internet and Email wizard.  Connected the first time fine - after about a 5 minute delay from finishing the wizard.

Now if modem drops connection it will not redial the Internet.

Because it is configured via the wizard - there is not a dial-up icon for the connection inside of the Network Connections section of the system.

The only way I have found to reconnect is to shutdown and restart the server.

What used to be ISA server - now configured withing the SBS 2003 R2 system - is not visible as a software option.

How do I force the system to reconnect when it drops the phone or get disconnected?
