Money 2000 Standard Edition Version 8 RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I am not sure if I have the UK or US version.  I have been using this for years...  since 2000!  I do not want to lose all my data.  Is it possible or even sensible to download Sunset and if so can I import all my data?

  • If you have the UK version you need Money 2005 UK. Sunset will not open your data file.

If you have the US version you need Sunset. UK versions of Money will not open your file. Note that Sunset may need an intermediate conversion as explained in the second post in this forum.

In either case, just copy your Money data file to your Documents area and open it. Be sure you know your access credentials or you will not be able to open the data file.

  • This comment from an old post may help:

A way to determine what geographic version of Microsoft Money that you have
installed is to look in the "MNYCoreFiles\Work" folder for the *.aw file(s).

If the installation is UK, the file will be MNYUKEN.AW.

If it is INTL English, it will have several files all starting with MNYEN.

The file for US would be MNYUSEN.AW.

So, to summarize, the 4th and 5th letters tell the story, UK, EN or US. Later US versions also should work for Canada.

If you need help finding these files, post back.
