Netgear SC101 used as prt of server storage RRS feed

  • HI is it possible to use Netgear SC101 as part of server storage.
    I am using a dell Poweredge 1800 for running WHS, it has dual 3.2 Xeon and 2 GB ram 2 x 76GB and 2 x 146Gb Scsi drive

  • Unfortunately Windows Home Server can only use directly attached disks (with the right drivers attached via IDE, USB, SATA, SAS and SCSI) as part of it's storage pool, so the answer is no.

  • I have SC101 devices attached, and in the Computer Management console, under "Disk Management", I see the Z-SAN-based devices available to be added to the storage pool... I have not tried it myself, because I question their long-term reliability for that purpose, but as far as I can tell, the drives are available for that use.
