windows 7 not genuine build 7600 msg + devices missing RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

My computer has been doing the 'windows not genuine build 7600' weekly. The occurence is 4 times a week using norton 360 and less with Avast free.

When this happens my devices become missing my fix for this is to recreate the "SYSTEMS" in the enumerator and give it full permissions.

    Windows is then reactivated ok.

This is a temporary fix as the non genuine msg and resulting disable of my computer will happen again.

    How can I fix this

    thanks

  • For some reason, either actual hardware failure or low level driver issues your hardware recognition is failing, causing the hardware hash to change and therefore deactivating windows.

To fix the non-genuine issue you will need to troubleshoot the missing devices issue first. Also, in order for us to give you the best advice we would need you to generate a report during one of the non-genuine occurences. Please review the following link, download the tool and during a non-genuine occurence generate a report and post it here in a new thread or in this one.

  • Hello Idar2,

It would be pretty stupid to take the risk of installing a program from an unknown third party when the WAT KB can be uninstalled from the Windows Update interface.  Doh.

  • I would recommend <deleted> to remove the windows genuine advantage stuff that <no swearing please>  up your install. If you are not happy with genuine advantage you are allowed to remove it.
