save password while configuring Outlook client 4.0 RRS feed

  • I guess this is an internet facing implementation and we have external folks who don't "log in" to their computers.  To install the client we connect through the browser where one is prompted for the credentials and check "save password".  Then, while leaving this connection open we configure the client - it works because the credentials are saved for this connection.

     

    This configuration should be permanent, but we just came across a case where the client will not load independently following a reboot -- the credentials are forgotten.  The UNACCEPTABLE work around is to open the browser connection prior to each session.  Mind you that you can go in and out of Outlook all day long,  It's once you reboot that the configuration falls short.

     

    Is there some setting that makes this saved password persist?  CRM client, IE, OS?
