SharePoint SQL Server Database Log file is too big RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi there,
We are running the MOSS 2007 based on the SQL Server 2005 database, one of the SharePoint Content Database log file size grew more than 50 GB after 3 months (the .mdf file for that database is about 20 GB), I have done the Database file shrinking, but it only reduced 1 GB. and I run the database maintenance plan for a weekly full backup and daily differential backup onto a dedicated backup device.
Is there anyway that we can recude the log file size further?  I saw that posts from internet that run the command "DBCC SHRINKFILE (N’SharePoint_Content_...’ , 500)", is that safe?
