  • Question

  • Hello, i tried to reinstall my notebook and i cant reactivate the windows.

    Here are my specs :

    - Product : Acer Travelmate 6292 - 832G25Mn

    - OS : Windows Vista Business OA (EM) - SEA

Since i don't get any Windows Vista installation DVD from Acer, I've download the Windows Vista installation iso.

    Installation ISO : en_windows_vista_with_sp2_x86_dvd_342266.iso with SHA1 : 25AD9A776503E6A583BEC07879DBCC5DFD20CD6E.

Well, installation works perfectly. And then I've installed driver, windows update and everything.

Then i tried to activate windows, it's stated that still have 29 days to activate, and then i tried click activate now.

But in the end, its failed and there's error message : 0xc004e003. Even my COA Sticker and product keys are behind my notebook.

I've read some of the topic about these 0xc004e003 and still haven't got the solution yet.

    Tried to using MGADiag Tool:

apart from the two head lines I can see nothing wrong with your report - which usually means that the Licensing Store is corrupted.

Please try the below steps to recreate the Store files.  This may resolve the issue.

    1) Open an Internet Browser window.
    2) Type: %windir%\system32 into the browser address bar.
    3) Find the file CMD.exe
    4) Right-Click on CMD.exe and select 'Run as Administrator'
    5) Type: net stop slsvc  (it may ask you if you are sure, select yes)
    6) Type: cd %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareLicensing
    7) Type: rename tokens.dat tokens.bar
    8) Type: cd %windir%\system32
    9) Type: net start slsvc
    10) Type: cscript slmgr.vbs -rilc (It may take a long time for this to complete, please be patient)
    11) Restart your computer twice.
    12) You may be required to enter the Product Key and/or Activate.

     Reboot

Once complete, please post back with a new MGADiag report

    "

On instruction number 6, i cant find AppData\ Folder in my system, neither tokens.bar or tokens.dat.

Please help me about this issue. Thank you very much.

  • Please FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS GIVEN.

    You were told...

    <quote>

You need to change the Product Key to the one on the COA sticker on the machine's case (or inside the battery compartment),  using the Change Product Key link at the bottom of the System properties page.

You may need to activate by phone

    </quote>

    Did you do that?

For what version and edition of Windows is your machine licensed, according to the COA sticker on the case??

  • on the AppData problem - you don't need to find it, merely follow the instructions (the folder is hidden by default).

What media did you use to reinstall the OS?- the Key is not the usual one for a reinstall done with Acer media.

Computers that come pre-installed with Windows from large manufacturers usually come with two Product Keys.

OEM SLP: This is the key that came in Windows (from the factory). It works by connecting to a BIOS flag (the SLIC table) found only on  computers from that Manufacturer. It also checks for the existence of proper matching licenses in the OS itself. Once it sees both, it self-activates every time the machine is rebooted.

COA SLP: This is the key seen on the sticker located on the side, bottom or in the battery compartment of your machine. This key is for use if the OEM SLP self-activation stops working for whatever reason.

  • Obtain the correct media: Recovery Media Purchase Program

Or better yet, purchase and install Microsoft Windows 7 Professional SP1 64-bit - OEM

And i can't enter serial number or SNID if using Recovery Media Purchase Program from Acer.

Maybe its because i didn't bought it from Acer US store?
