effects of virus on email.. RRS feed

  • my father in law contracted a virus on his pc and cant open his email. I think he was using Outlook for his emails at first. After his antivirus informed him of a virus he couldnt view his email. Any suggestions on the best possible solution to this.

  • Really sorry to hear that jdnance.    One of the better solutions out there is to try some free antivirus programs, and a good one is actually Microsoft Security Essentials, which available here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/security_essentials/default.aspx.  Its free as long as you have a valid copy of Windows, kept up to date, and doesn't slow your machine down too much.

    You can also try posting this question over in the Office forums at http://answers.microsoft.com.  This is a great forum for end users with questions like yours.  There's also the related topics section you can see at the right side of this page, as well as doing a bing search on the exact error code that you're getting.
