Multiple OEM Win7 installs using a clone SSD RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have 20 new IDENTICAL workstations with SSD drives & 20x win7 Pro OEM cd licences to install.

Can I install on one PC,  fully  Windows update,  and then clone the remaining SSD's at that point to save time doing 20x installs?

I understand that the clones will need individual OEM keys putting in when activating, but if any updates are processed, will that cause a problem.

I can't seem to find the procedure without using a pre OEM kit kerfuffel.

    Thanks for any advice

  • In theory this would be a breach of the licensing rules.

In practice, it seems to me to be a reasonable reasonable thing to do, and should work :)

  • P.S. to ensure a minimum of fuss, I'd install using the default Key (don't enter any Key during the install) and test the clone on a second system, before adding the Keys afterwards.
