I tried inputting the product number that was on the sticker on the bottom side of my laptop and I got this error code: 0xC004E003

I also tried this method below

    1) Open an Internet Browser window.
    2) Type: %windir%\system32 into the browser address bar.
    3) Find the file CMD.exe
    4) Right-Click on CMD.exe and select 'Run as Administrator'
    5) Type: net stop slsvc  (it may ask you if you are sure, select yes)
    6) Type: cd %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareLicensing
    7) Type: rename tokens.dat tokens.bar < WHEN I USE THIS, I GET "A duplicate file name exists, or the file cannot be found."
    8) Type: cd %windir%\system32
    9) Type: net start slsvc
    10) Type: cscript slmgr.vbs -rilc (It may take a long time for this to complete, please be patient)
    11) Restart your computer twice.
    12) You may be required to enter the Product Key and/or Activate. Be sure to use the Product key on the sticker on the side or bottom of the PC (some laptops may have the sticker located in the battery compartment) To Activate, please use the Activate by Phone option.

And yet still I cannot validate my laptop's license.

I called the toll free number, and they couldn't get it set either.

    --

This all occurred after I randomly restarted my laptop one night, next day I have this problem.

    7) Type: rename tokens.dat tokens.bar < WHEN I USE THIS, I GET "A duplicate file name exists, or the file cannot be found."

That error usually occurs because the file tokens.bar already exists, after someone has already attempted (and possibly succeeded) to use the fix previously - the solution is to either delete the existing tokens.bar file, or to use a different filename (I use tokens.bar2)
Then retry the whole fix - hopefully it should cure your problem.

The only problems I can see with your report is the lowest one highlighted  (the top three are resulting from that) - BUT your PC is possibly too old to have been originally sold with Vista installed.
For what version and edition of Windows is the machine licensed, according to the COA sticker on the case?
Note that you cannot use an XP license Key to activate a Vista installation.
Darin may be able to check the key in use - and tell us what it's valid for (if anything - but I would have expected a different error in that case)
