All of the current .net certifications require 70-536 and one additional exam. If you only want to take one test i would recommend 70-536 since its the base for all the other tests and once you have passed that one you will only need to take one test for each .Net certificate.

Hi,
You can take the tests in any order you want. Depending on exactly what certificate you want you may have to do more than one test.Wednesday, December 16, 2009 4:55 PM -
I saw one thread , person completed 70-526 but he did get certificate, he passed but not certified , some one respond him to attend 70-536, so it mean he have to go 2 test,
if i attend 70-526 so i need to go 2 test, and if i attend 70-536 so i have to attend one test and get certitcate??

The Visual Studio certificates require you to take two exams (http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/certification/cert-vstudio.aspx#tab2) so if its one of them you want to get you will have to take two tests.
What certificate is it you are interested in ?Wednesday, December 16, 2009 5:39 PM -

Yes, if you want the certificate "MCTS: .NET Framework 2.0: Windows Applications" you will have to take both 70-536 and 70-526.
