Windows7 x64 No longer genuine RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

For a couple weeks now i am receiving the well known non genuine error screen on my 2 windows 7 computers, Both are running windows 7 x64 with a MSDN license,

Since the last Genuine update from microsoft these are marked as non genuine software while msdn licenses can be use for a couple computers for dev. procedures. Im unable to activate it by phone cause i get the message saying that i could not be activated, I got transferred to a CSR who says that its a fake license that only works for 3 months ? while it has been functional for more then 3 months. (the package was sealed with a sticker from Ingram Micro with VP#: GLC-00182 116W870 WIN ULT 7 ENGLISH ROW (Rest of the World) DVD 852091102 Origin: Ireland

If i run the mgadiag tool it comes with the following output:

  • Is this yet another ebay scam ? almost all software sold on ebay is counterfeit

    Windows Product ID: 00426-068-6342411-86982

The product ID -068- Indicates a not for resale MSDN account. If you are not the account holder and you purchased this in a retail box, the box and it's contents are counterfeit. Demand an immediate refund from the seller

    For more information see this:

     http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinewindows7/thread/a2444f34-0aff-4f29-a8ac-67e28b0c0285

To see how good these counterfeits are becoming, see:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzqNNiOM0cs

You will have to purchase a legitimate windows from a legitimate retailer.

  • That's what i was thinking last few weeks, Unfortunately the eBay seller is gone with the wind so asking refund isn't possible. When i spoke to the CSR of microsoft on the phone he advised me to report it as counterfeit. In my opinion this is the last possible option.

Please feel free to submit a Counterfeit Software Report directly to Microsoft.

It's actually the first option - if your report passes the quality bar, you may get a complimentary Genuine copy of Windows 7 to replace the one you reported.
