profile page won't accept my web page http://galactic-patrol.spaces.live.com RRS feed

  • Question

  • It complains that there are invalid characters in the URL. Presumably the dash between 'galactic' and 'patrol'. However, that is actually the real valid URL of my site.

  • I willl open a bug on this and make sure that we support all valid characters for a URL. Thanks for posting it to the forum.

  • I've some problems with my profile too. Doesn't accept my signature, my about messege, and my nickname. :D It seems that the quotes and other special characters not supported in any fields. :)

  • The display name and signature values have been limited to a specific character set to avoid possible confusion regarding affiliation, spoofing, as well as simplifying validation. This set may be revisited and enhanced in the future, I believe.

Out of curiosity, what characters (besides the quotes you mentioned) are you needing?

    thanks,

  • Signature is not a big problem, but my display name contains an @ sign. :) It is important to me.

  • Same problem here, Profile page does not accept my url http://gabriel.lozano-moran.name. I recommend that you update the validators after reading RFC 1630 :-p
