Then, as per the reply to my earlier post, I went to

    http://www.microsoft.com/Genuine/diag/RunDiags.aspx?displayLang=en

and fixed the problem it indicated, so now all of those checks work OK.

However, neither the Validate Windows control on the page above, nor the Continue control on http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=4F01A31D-EE46-481E-BA11-37F485FA34EA&displaylang=en do anything other than time out. Sometimes I get the "Page Unavailable" message, sometimes a "Server busy" message.

All the rest of my Internet access is working fine.

This is VERY frustrating. I'm trying to download some software to allow Vista to "see" my XP network, and so far I've spent several hours over 5 days.

Please can you help fix this?

    Thanks

  • mrm000,

From the dianostic results provided, it indicates that Windows XP Home is genuine.

These forums are for the support of Windows Genuine Advantage Validation issues. Your post does not appear to be Vista Activation or Validation related and, as such, is off-topic for the forum (as well as outside my area of knowledge).

I suggest reposting your question to one of the Vista Newsgroups at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=42486 or go to http://support.microsoft.com for additional support options.

    Thank you,
