migrate Synctoy pairs AND backups from old to new XP computer RRS feed

  • I have a XP with Synctoy 2 with 3-4 pairs running, right= portable drive.
    i would copy all the pairs and data etc from old to a new machine.
    how to organise that simple.

    What would work is copying everything you have under %localappdata%\Microsoft\SyncToy\ and all the data folders ( including hidden files that we create under those folders). Please keep in mind though that this is unsupported and we have no guarantees around this working.

  • This worked for me... I copied all files and folders over and found all my pairs on the new machine.  I then ran a preview and everything looked good, so I ran the sync.  All is great.

     

    My SyncToy migration was from Win7 to Win7 with the exact same folder structures on each (they had been migrated by Windows Easy Transfer).
